white windows & natural light
Today I'm continuing with my yesterday's post as I realized I completely forgot to mention my love for white windows. I dug into my folder again to find inspiring spaces with much natural light and found this beautiful reading nook and home office.
The photo of the nook is taken in the Brooklyn townhouse of Jenna Lyons of J. Crew. I saw somewhere that the house is on the market or already sold but Heather Clawson of Habitually Chic has more photos of it. I must add that I love the branches in the vase; they're perfect for spring decorating.

I love those windows in the second space, the individual panes give it character. The typrwriter is rather lovely, too!
ReplyDeleteI like that first picture with the lovely view, all that light and those old chairs (on casters no less) paired with the tulip sidetable. Beautiful. x
ReplyDeleteThat first sitting nook looks endlessly inviting. Big windows always are:) I love these white examples. I also always love to see big windows with a fragile iron frame, preferably with a view on a French garden.
ReplyDeleteFunny you should mention the branches in the vase, Lisa. That's one of my favourite ideas to decorate for spring, and then for autumn too and in winter I just put some bare branches in a vase and hang Christmas decorations in them (this usually adorns the hallway). Love these two spaces very much. :)
ReplyDeletehi Lisa!
ReplyDeleteWhite windows are at my home and I haven't covered with any courtain still. I love the light pass through them.
Yes to white and big windows.

ReplyDeleteWhite windows and big windows for sure! That nook looks ever so charming.

I wish I had such huge windows in my apartment - well I wouldn't like to clean them, but what the heck! An abundance of natural light is the best interior design element!!!
ReplyDeleteI so love that first space of Jenna Lyons reading nook. I've had it saved for inspiration too. I told J that we need to pack it up and head to Brooklyn to get more space and fabulous details like this. :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteI have few window coverings just for this very reason. I love whites and neutrals for helping brighten the surroundings. Your posts are REALLY giving me "Spring Fever"! We are having a beautiful spring day here today; is spring peeking its' head into Antwerp?

That top image of Jenna Lyons home is one of my all time favourites. Nothing beats glorious light shining though fabulously large windows in a cozy little nook xx
ReplyDeleteI love big white windows, lots of light and a pretty view.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful inspiration Lisa:)

White windows always add more light... and I also noticed that the colour tones seem clearer.
ReplyDeleteLove that minimalist design in the last picture and of course the typing machine. Also, the contrast between the white window and the dark brown chair!Lovely, Lisa!
